Ten year anniversary celebrations for Perth to Busselton Bike Ride

WGE is celebrating the tenth anniversary of the annual charity bike ride from Perth to Busselton. On Friday 4 November, a team of 35 riders will depart WGE’s Perth office on Adelaide Terrace, finishing at the Busselton office after clocking 250km.

The day is a test of endurance that involves about 12 hours on the road and whilst it’s not a race, the traditional sprint finish along the Busselton foreshore is known to get competitive.

As well as raising vital funds for WGE’s nominated charity, the Children’s Leukaemia and Cancer Research Foundation, the event is a chance for staff, clients, family and friends to get together for a good cause. The group of riders has been training for 12 weeks in the lead up to the ride and the event is part of WGE’s ongoing commitment to community causes and projects.

WGE Chief Executive Officer, Jóse Granado says that WGE is committed to supporting projects and causes that make a difference. “The annual event is a fantastic way to bring the team together and make a contribution to a worthy cause,” said Jóse.

WGE has raised almost $15,000 for the Children’s Leukaemia and Cancer Research Foundation which plays an important role in improving childhood leukaemia survival rates in WA. Research carried out at the Foundation has identified over 50 different types of childhood leukaemia and cancer and developed specific treatment protocols benefiting thousands of young patients.
