WGE’s epic charity ‘Enduro’ journey

Wood & Grieve is committed to influencing positive change in our local communities. We’re excited to announce our latest initiative this June 2015 as the WGE Enduro team undertake an epic charity journey. Distinctive new façade and roof structure at award-winning Brandsmart

Major redevelopment of the Brandsmart Outlet Superstore located in Nunawading, Melbourne, brought COX Architecture together with Wood & Grieve Engineers (WGE) to revitalise the shopping centre’s street frontage. The 1500m2 expansion includes eight new retail tenancies and six restaurants enclosed by an emblematic roof structure. In May 2015 Brandsmart won the Best Commercial/Retail project at the City of Whitehorse Built Environment awards. The retail development’s impressive new frontage features roof space-trusses and expressed ‘pod’ shop fronts. The $116 million expansion of Baldivis Shopping Centre is a key strategic development by Stockland in the Baldivis and Rockingham regions of WA. The retail hub expansion quadruples the Centre’s net lettable area from 7,000m2 to 29,500m2 and includes an impressive range of major retail outlets as well as close to 100 specialty stores, 1400 parking spaces and a restaurant terrace. 999 Hay Street is a $50 million commercial office which has been developed as a vibrant workplace located within Perth’s Parliamentary Precinct on the edge of the CBD. An Australian first in renewable energy receives approval to energise

WGE collaborates on cutting-edge renewable energy generation & pool heating system The Fremantle Aquatic Centre (WA) heating project is the first in Australia to utilise cutting-edge renewable technology and combine a cogeneration unit with a ground source heat pump to warm the pool. Wood & Grieve officially obtained Western Power’s approval to energise on 2 February 2015. The new pool heating system has been assessed as providing optimal payback and carbon offset to the City of Fremantle. WGE collaborates on Melbourne City’s state-of-the-art football training facility

Melbourne City have unveiled the spectacular new $15 million football training facility, home to the City Football Group. Wood & Grieve’s mechanical, electrical and hydraulics teams worked closely with ME Engineers’ New York office to assist with project documentation, design review and liaison with authorities. The new facilities are world-class and boast a replication of the famous Manchester change room. Players and coaches will be training for peak performance at the A-League level facility, which is a ‘one stop shop’ incorporating coaches’ and meeting rooms plus rehab area and full gym with stretching, weights and cardio sections.
