The Quays is Melbourne’s Docklands newest and most distinctive address. Whilst the striking architecture is the prominent feature of the iconic twin residential apartment tower, the innovations are not just skin deep. In what is MAB Corporation’s largest development in the New Quay precinct, the creative and progressive approach to the building’s services compliments the unique bold architectural form.

The WGE team challenged commonly accepted standards to unlock significant cost savings in the design for MAB Corporation and in turn assisted the builder, Brookfield Multiplex, in delivering the building 3 months earlier than their already ambitious program predicted. Rather than accepting the typical solution for high rise residential buildings, WGE collaborated closely with the fire brigade to enable significant efficiency in the design through shared infrastructure and a performance approach to the final solution.

The Quays is a clear example of WGE’s ability to match creative and innovative architecture with similarly creative, innovative and efficient engineering solutions.
