David joined WGE in April 2018 to help establish and build our transportation engineering sector within the Melbourne office.

David combines theoretical knowledge and practical expertise to complex traffic and transportation issues and has a wide range of experience working with both private and public sector clients.

David is a project engineer with expertise in all areas of traffic and transport planning including traffic and car parking impact assessments, traffic and car park design, road network master planning, road safety and traffic.

What will you bring to a project

My experience in multiple sectors of the industry, coupled with my knowledge of the expectations of the relevant authorities, ensures the client and project team’s objectives are met on each project.

I am passionate about transportation engineering and strive to find efficient and effective traffic engineering solutions for clients.

David enjoys travelling across Australia and the world. David can regularly be found playing tennis or tackling his next home improvement project.

Project highlights:

  • Safe to School Program – David was the project lead for the development for a transport strategy for a number of schools as part of the Safe to School program. A detailed plan was developed of practical transport infrastructure improvements which had specific regard to improving the safety of all users around the schools.
  • Ferntree Gully Car Parking Study – David was the project lead for a car parking study of the Ferntree Gully Town Centre. Ferntree Gully is a growing town centre, the study reviewed existing conditions and sought to provide a series of practical recommendations to improve car parking within the centre in the future.
  • Ardess-Walmsley Local Structure Plan – David was the transportation lead for the preparation of a Local Structure Plan which assessed the design and capacity of the future road network, both mid-block and at intersections.
  • Harrow Street Car Park – David was previously involved in the design and analysis of a new multi-storey Council car park which is to service the growing Box Hill Major Activity Centre. The project involved extensive design, analysis and consultation with project stakeholders as well as the delivery of a new signalised pedestrian crossing.
  • South Campbelltown Strategic Transport Assessment – David was previously involved in the preparation of a strategic transport assessment of the future transport network to service a future mixed-use development accommodating in excess of 10,000 dwellings across four town/village neighbourhood centres.
