Eric is a chartered structural engineer with 20 years of local and international project experience of diverse type, scale and complexity.
His project portfolio includes numerous residential and office multi-storey developments, institutional facilities, medical, commercial, industrial and heritage adaptive re-use projects for both private and public client sectors with project values up to $150 million in construction value.
Eric’s successful project-delivery record is testimony to his ability to provide efficient, workable and cost-effective structural solutions whilst maintaining strong working relationships with architects, clients and builders. As a senior structural project engineer, Eric takes an enthusiastic and proactive approach to problem-solving and remains solution-focused. He is supported by a strong structural design team and remains fully involved in all stages of the project from conceptual design to project documentation and site supervision.
Eric became a principal of Wood & Grieve Engineers in 2008.
I bring 20 years of structural experience on a broad range of local and international projects. I take an engaged and proactive approach on all my projects and remains fully involved from concept design through to project documentation and site supervision. I pride myself on being able to provide efficient, workable and cost-effective structural solutions and I feel I am known for my personable and collaborative working relationships with clients and team members.
Eric is a Fremantle local. Weekends generally see him and his young family exploring markets, lazing on local beaches or venturing far afield, boat and camper-trailer in tow.
Aspiring photographer, avid traveler and procrastinating handy-man, he also has a penchant for French-films, Bordeaux Wines and geeky history books.

Fort Knox Redevelopment
Conversion and adaptive re-use of an iconic, 80 year-old, heritage-listed Woolstore to residential and commercial use including an additional level of reinforced concrete carpark slab.
Lot 790, Port Coogee
Founded on difficult ground conditions including Karstic coastal limestone, this 9-storey concrete residential development made use of deep-wall elements to eliminate structural transfer and to assist with overcoming variable ground conditions.
Fairlanes
27-storey mixed residential and commercial tower which was the recipient of a 2012 UDIA award. It featured a street-level plaza, terraced amphitheatre and 4-level underground car park.
Pelago Apartments
This 8 multi-storey mixed use development was the first of its kind in Australia’s North West. Designed for cyclonic conditions, the majority of structural elements were fabricated in Perth and transported to site to minimise on-site trades and facilitate remote-site construction.
