With more than 20 years’ experience in Electrical Engineering, Grant joined WGE in 2009 as a Project Engineer after emigrating to Perth, where his personable management style and can-do approach makes him popular with both staff and clients. Grant has an extensive skillset and has worked on various key projects including Fiona Stanley Hospital and Joondalup Health Campus, with major involvement in the Health, Retail, commercial and Multi-Residential sectors.
Adopting a collaborative approach to the design process, Grant has developed strong and responsive relationships with Clients, design teams and contractors to facilitate successful project outcomes that are positive for everyone involved. With high attention to detail and a reputation for creative and accurate technical design, WGE was delighted to invite him to become a Principal of the firm and he is an integral part of the Leadership structure.
It’s the complexity of a project that keeps it interesting, such as constructing within a live environment or integrating new technology. I always enjoy engaging with the design team, contributing to imaginative design solutions, working out the details and introducing technical innovation. I pride myself in completing every project I start and consistently delivering the goods. Every day is different.
Grant counts himself blessed to have a loving family with the proverbial pigeon pair who understand as a typical man he is sports mad and still partakes in touch rugby leagues. He loves the sea and any opportunity to visit the WA coastline is grasped.
Edith Cowan University – B34
B34 at ECU is the new iconic student services building for the Joondalup campus. The project is a 10,000sqm $70m project comprising intricate and integrated system designs across all electrical, ICT, AV, WIFI and communications disciplines.
I have to say, that the level of attention and support which I have from both Calvin and Grant on this project is really excellent in terms of extent, professionalism and expertise and is very, very much appreciated.
I am under considerable stress with the relentless workload and program problems on the project and the assistance from WGE eases that stress for me.
