Luke joined the WGE Melbourne Fire Engineering team in 2014. He achieved the role of Senior Fire Engineer in 2017 and was promoted to Fire Engineering Project Engineer/Section Manager in 2018.

What will you bring to a project

I get great satisfaction out of working in an enjoyable team environment and achieving great outcomes for a project along the way. My experience in multiple sectors of the industry coupled with my knowledge of the expectations of the relevant authorities ensures the client and project team’s objectives are met on each project.

Outside work

Outside of work, Luke enjoys heading down to the beach or up to the slopes depending on the season, hiking and camping through the national parks surrounding Melbourne and spending time on his parent’s farm in South Gippsland.

Previous projects

  • Alcohol & Other Drug Rehabilitation Services (five sites) – With the Victorian Government committing to the redevelopment of alcohol and other drug treatment across the state, these fast-paced projects further expanded existing AOD services to reduce waiting times for people needing access to residential rehabilitation.
  • Union Tower - Union Tower is a 36-storey residential development in the heart of Melbourne’s CBD consisting of 100m2of retail on the ground floor and 165 apartments on the floors above. Working closely and collaboratively with architects, Rothe Lowman, and the client, JSK Development, WGE designed all services within the development.
  • Latrobe University Bendigo Transformation – Latrobe University proposed four projects including a new engineering building, an expansion of the existing library building, a new entry plaza and new sports change rooms in order to transform the Flora Hill Campus with modern, high-tech facilities for staff and students.
  • Huntingtower School Auditorium - The new performing arts centre consists of 500 seat auditorium and main stage. This outstanding facility will be used by the school and the community as a multipurpose performing arts centre. The design includes fly towers, pit lifting systems and sub-stage machinery, lighting systems, stage rigging, seating layouts, AV control room, stage communications and backstage areas.
  • John Fawkner Hospital Redevelopment - The plant and infrastructure upgrades on the project are significant and are required to be completed in a fully operational and occupied hospital environment. The existing systems are aged and approaching end of life. The main project challenge is upgrading the site infrastructure in a staged manner that minimises interruption to existing operational systems.
