The Carrington Street project included the design and construction of 17 apartments in Hamilton Hill, WA.
WGE took a multidisciplinary approach when engaged to provide the client briefing, schematic design and development, documentation and construction phase services. This included electrical, fire engineering, hydraulics, mechanical, structural and sustainability services. WGE worked closely with the architect to assist them realise their vision for the space.
In order to achieve the authority metering arrangements for the client, significant in-ground services coordination was required to fit high volumes of pipes within small corridors between and alongside buildings. The multi-disciplinary approach allowed for the high level of integration for servicing in tight situations.
This was achieved by realising an attractive architectural solution without a large financial impact. WGE worked as a team to come up with cost effective engineering solutions to deliver a beautiful, yet economic, final product.
The project was a finalist in the 2018 WA Architectural Awards – Multiple Housing Design category
