WGE undertook building services and acoustics services for the conversion of four commercial office floors into a university campus for Central Queensland University (CQU), to provide engineering, echocardiography and sonography labs, workshops, lecture theatre and conference rooms.
Modification of existing services was required to incorporate the BCA requirement for a change in class of the building. The majority of client standards and briefing documents were related to a campus-style development (rather than a CBD building) and therefore close client liaison was needed to achieve optimum outcomes.
The project was completed within a short time frame and WGE worked closely with the builder (Shape), architect (Christou) and the client to ensure all requirements were met.
