Commonwealth Bank of Australia are anchoring a new 27,000m2 A grade office building in Darling Square, Sydney. The project is targeting a 6 Star Green Start base building rating achieved under the Office V3 tool.

WGE have been engaged as the Acoustic consultant for the project to provide strategic advice with respect to Acoustics for the base building component of the project. The building will house the new offices for CBA in Sydney consolidating their corporate offices in Darling Square and at the Australian Technology Park.

Some specific design features of the base building include:

• Design of the building façade in order to achieve the Green Star recommended internal noise levels. The building is located next to a major transportation area which made the façade design challenging
• Design of the noise control for the mechanical system to use the emergency system as part of the provision of cool / hot air to the building for emergency efficiency purpose
• Chilled beam system
