As part of the overall development at 22 George Street, Leichhardt, street frontage works were carried out at McAleer Street, Upward Street and George Street. There are known flooding issues around the development, so the existing Sydney Water Culvert (which runs under McAleer and Upward Street) was upgraded, and the surrounding roads were re-graded to improve overland flow.
A 2D flood assessment was carried out on the culvert upgrade works and regrading of the surrounding roads. This involved producing flood mapping of the various construction stages to develop flood extents and planning levels required for Leichhardt Council and Sydney Water approval.
