This Queensland Rail project included the upgrade of facilities and access arrangements to achieve independent access to Graceville Train Station and its associated platforms.

As part of the pre-design phase, WGE carried out site audits and compliance reviews of the existing service installations at each station to clearly define the full extent of engineering design scope. This project is currently in the Construction Phase (Phase 4).

Electrical engineering work included:

  • Upgrade of Energex power supply, LV distribution system and complete earthing and bonding upgrade
  • Isolation transformer
  • Extensive upgrade and alteration of accessible in-ground power and comms infrastructure (conduit and pits)
  • Undertrack crossing cable reticulation pathways
  • Power supplies to new lifts and general equipment
  • Accessible cable reticulation pathways for comms, security and HAL systems
  • Lighting upgrade throughout platforms, overpass structures, pedestrian ramps and PWD car parking areas
  • Energex rate-2 street lighting
  • Lighting control systems and interface with CCTV

WGE also oversaw the mechanical ventilation of new PWD to Australian code requirements and provision of advice on natural ventilation provisions for cross-track flybridge.
