Over the last three years WGE have been successfully working together with Schneider on their new head offices in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth as part of the Schneider Electric office consolidation program across the Asia Pacific region.
Sydney: The Sydney co-location project involved the amalgamation of nine previous Schneider locations and 900 employees into nearly 8500m² of office space over four and a half levels in Macquarie Park.
Melbourne: The M1 project saw the consolidation of nine previous Schneider locations and 370 employees into 6000m² of dedicated office space at the new Ferntree Business Park. This workplace has been awarded the winner at the 2014 Australian Living Green Interior Awards in the Office category.
Perth: The PWEST project saw the consolidation of six previous Schneider locations and 300 employees into 3500m² of new office space and 500m² of dedicated workshop space at Malaga.
Being specialists in energy management, WGE worked with Schneider on all aspects of the mechanical, hydraulic, fire protection and electrical services design to achieve the 5 star Green Star ratings associated with the Sydney and Melbourne fitouts. This included the implementation of the Schneider Electric Ecostruxure energy management system that has been incorporated into each new office location. This system allows the energy usage of each site to be displayed at the entry so employees and visitors are aware of their efficiencies so can take active steps to help reduce energy consumption and help to achieve the 5 star NABERs ratings and other Schneider sustainability targets.
WGE helped to implement several Schneider building technologies that were showcased in each project including the following:
