Newhaven is an award winning 1000 Lot residential community just 18km from the Perth Central Business District.

WGE provided civil and underground power consulting services to achieve the new design layout desired which included:

• Incorporating the existing towering pine trees atop the sand hills.
• Maintaining the existing melaleuca trees within the low lying areas.

Newhaven also includes areas set aside for a primary school, playing fields, drainage areas and numerous public open spaces.

A challenge the WGE team faced was that much of the existing Newhaven estate land had minimal clearance to groundwater. The team solved this issue by utilising a combination of subsoil drainage, imported fill and natural drainage corridors.

Early periods of development also encountered a lack of servicing infrastructure which necessitated the need for the design and construction of major sewer, water and gas works.

Newhaven has won several Urban Development Institute of Australia (WA) awards and continues to perform strongly on the sales front. Later stages have also attracted a large number of repeat purchasers from within the Estate.
