The project comprised the development of Platinum Tower in Melbourne’s Southbank precinct. The 52 level development incorporated residential apartments, an above ground car park and ground level retail. Design features include the 10 storey breathable vertical garden, articulated facade and striking views owing to the site location.
WGE undertook the mechanical and vertical transportation services design for the building. The vertical garden presented unique challenges to be overcome in ventilating the car park. The vertical transportation solution for the building incorporates destination selection control and a split shaft arrangement that maximised service quality whilst minimising building footprint.
