The cathedral was originally constructed in 1936, requiring a considered approach to all works. WGE were engaged for:
- Construction of the new Monsignor Hawes Heritage Centre which consisted of a café and heritage centre
- Replacement of the cathedral dome, external lighting of the facade of the cathedral and landscape lighting
Project challenges:
- Providing required services to the building while maintaining the heritage nature and ascetics of the building
- Working closely with the architect and client to produce a design that was aesthetically pleasing and complementary to the heritage site
