St George Bank’s flagship retail tenancy is located within tower 2 of the well renowned Barangaroo retail precinct. In accordance with Westpac Bank’s corporate sustainability objectives, the tenancy has been awarded the First 6 Star Green Star – World Leadership rating via the GBCA Interiors V1 tool.

WGE where engaged as both the sustainability (Green Star Accredited Professional) and acoustic consultants for the project. WGE’s role was instrumental in ensuring the project outcome is the first 6 Star Green Star certification awarded under the Interiors V1 tool ensuring St George Bank continues to innovate and lead the banking industry with regards to sustainable banking.

Some specific design features of the tenancy include:

• 85% reduction in GHG emissions
• 130% cumulative impact reduction for Life Cycle Assessment
• Live green wall improving indoor air-quality and amenity
• Zero emission VOC paints
• Multiple Sustainability Innovations including Social Return on Investment, Social Enterprise for Affordable Housing and Community Benefits
