This project involves construction of a bespoke facility to bring together the West Coast Eagles training, rehabilitation, administration and community amenities. The building will provide a large indoor training hall, gyms, lap pool, hydrotherapy pool, function rooms, café, museum, shop, administrative space and media rooms. The Wirrpanda Foundation will also be located in the building with its own entrance and garden amphitheatre. The project includes two world class ovals with WGE providing structural and civil engineering services.
The large three storey building is designed to utilise the topography of the site to minimise the perceived mass of the building from the perimeter. Undercrofts, podia, stepped facades and an overhanging feature roof soften the impact of the buildings main external façade from the road, while maintaining an impressive façade facing the oval.
This project is a significant milestone in the history of the West Coast Eagles with the establishment of their own world class training facility.
