This project involves a vertical extension to the existing shopping centre, providing an additional two levels of retail and food and beverage tenancies as well as new external “North Shore” area and two additional levels of carparking.

WGE are working together with Fredon and Scentre Group carrying out the detailed design of the power reticulation and various lighting solutions including:

• LV Power reticulation coordinating with 13 new and existing substation transformers
• Lighting for all car park, tenancy, back of house and emergency lighting

Project challenges include working within the constraints of the existing shopping centre, site restrictions and minimising disruption to footfall.

WGE are also carrying out detailed REVIT and corresponding NavisWorks coordination with architecture, structure, mechanical, fire and hydraulic services where our models are being used for cable tray hanger and luminaire setting out on site.

Once completed, Westfield Chermside will be the biggest shopping centre in Australia.
