WGE have been working with GMA Cover Australia in the development and structural verification of lightweight high tensile fabric covered structures used for numerous applications including the commercial, industrial and mining sectors.
The product has been developed over the last 30 years for use worldwide with the design being undertaken in Europe and manufacturing in Canada.
WGE’s role was to assist the original designers to ensure compliance with Australian design standards, as well as assess the performance requirements of the system’s applicable usage in individual locations around Australia.
This required the team to undertake the design, documentation and site attendance for all in-ground works for the support of the bespoke lightweight structure as well as all other project specific requirements such as retaining walls, plant footings, etc.
WGE also conduct an independent design review of the product to ensure and verify that the design is suitable for the intended use taking into consideration the location within Australia, the Building Code of Australia and other relevant structural design standards.
The team have completed five facilities for the LNG gas project on Curtis Island Queensland (QLD), three facilities in Aldaga in QLD and one facility in Albany, Western Australia.
Client Testimonial
“…Gary Sollitt and his engineering team have developed a familiarity and understanding of the propriety structures that we import from North America that has allowed them to provide invaluable engineering advice and expertise to our company, both at tendering/proposal stages and during engineering contracts.
Gary and his team have been able to respond promptly to all of our demands at all times, sometimes delivering engineering designs in unrealistically short periods in their endeavour to support our frenetic and rapid project/construction programmes.”
