Recognition for office fitout at Design Institute Australia awards

Wood & Grieve Engineers’ (WGE) Perth office is celebrating a win at the Design Institute Australia (WA) awards held on Thursday 3 December. In partnership with architects Woods Bagot, WGE delivered an innovative office fitout for Built WA to showcase their innovative approach to workspace design.
The project was recognised with a Commendation for Lighting Solution, an Award of Merit in the Interior Spaces – Corporate category and the Best in State Award for the holistic approach to design and exceptional attention to detail. Judges were impressed with the contemporary mix of hospitality and workplace design to offer a unique office environment.
WGE provided Electrical, Fire Protection, Hydraulics and Mechanical services to refurbish the existing building to a highly detailed industrial finish.

Design features include:

• Exposed concrete structure and retaining and exposing existing services
• Coordination of designs to ensure a coherent visual style
• Incorporating high load areas for meetings and training without affecting the building facade
• Bicycle storage, open-plan kitchen and in-house bar
