    Gerald joined WGE in 2013 after returning from a 5 year stint in the UAE. He has more than 35 years’ experience as a professional in the entertainment production industry. He has designed over 120 performance venues throughout Australia, the USA, the Middle East and Asia and has also designed more than 200 professional recording and radio studios worldwide. His theatre expertise encompass what he refers to as ‘Applied Sight and Sound’, where the entire ‘electro-acoustic and audio visual’ space is considered by one design and includes the design of audience chambers, stages and support spaces, sightlines, acoustics, theatrical audio and lighting, control and distribution, rigging, stage lifts and machinery.

    Outside of work:

    Gerald is a prolific songwriter / musician and when not building radio control model jets, his other major passion, he is recording or collecting vintage guitars. With his wife Karen, he loves to travel and both are “world foodies”. He was the inaugural Chairman of the Middle East Acoustic Society, a body of now some 60 acoustic professionals in that region, and was actively involved in the technical direction of several acoustic conferences to enable the MENA region to come up to the ‘rest of the world’ standards in this particular field.

    What will you bring to a project?

    Working on projects in different countries has given me a very broad and well-rounded experience base to draw from and has also provided me with the ability to adjust quickly to specific project types, be they, small, medium or large in order to bring out the best possible solution for each project and ultimately to the satisfaction of the client.
