The rise of Wood & Grieve Engineers’ civil team

Wood & Grieve Engineers’ (WGE) Civil Section in Sydney is growing with the addition of Ian Harris, Civil Section Manager. Ian has fourteen years of high level experience in the land development and the design of road, drainage, bulk earthworks and general civil design for Energy and Resource Infrastructure, Building Infrastructure and Industrial / Commercial Infrastructure.

Ian is a key addition to the 70 people strong national civil engineering team, leading the Sydney civil team to add value to the design and delivery of major infrastructure and land development projects. Ian’s addition to the team is timed perfectly with the rapid infrastructure growth Sydney is undergoing as an outcome of the high level of capital expenditure.

Proactive team leadership is important to Ian, who explains that he drives optimal project results for clients by focussing on creating “a group of professionals who are able to think laterally and achieve optimal project solutions.” This leadership attitude is a perfect fit for culture-oriented WGE, who recently achieved “Best Employer” accreditation from Aon Hewitt for the 4th year in a row.

Joe Walsh, Sydney Office Manager, says, “Ian’s addition to our civil team seamlessly complements and enhances our existing capabilities. His depth and breadth of knowledge and experience is extremely impressive and his understanding of civil infrastructure analysis, design and future-proofing is unparalleled.”

WGE has a 50 year history of significant involvement in the Australian civil engineering industry, helping create communities, infrastructure and commercial landscapes.
