WGE achieves Aon Best Employer status for fifth year in a row

WGE have once again been accredited as an Aon Best Employer, making it five years in a row. Announced on Thursday 2 June, the award reflects WGE’s continued focus on engaging employees with an inclusive and rewarding workplace culture.

A total of 14 companies achieved Best Employer accreditation, with many recognisable names such as Cisco, Blackmores and SEEK making the list. WGE continues to be the only engineering consulting firm to achieve Best Employer status, reflecting the unique workplace culture that sets them apart from competitors.

WGE’s high levels of staff satisfaction and engagement, measured by Aon Hewitt’s independent survey, reflect the organisation’s strong focus on people and culture. Survey results show:

  • high levels of employee engagement, despite pressures of external market conditions and internal change create a unique working environment,
  • excellent leadership, brand alignment and a high performance culture; and
  • a strong sense pride and connection.

WGE CEO, José Granado says the award recognises the unique philosophy the company was founded on 55 years ago. “Our company founders built an organisation that valued people and the skills and talent they bring to their role,” he said.

“We have worked hard to ensure our work environment facilitates and drives engagement, with our unique culture being at the centre of everything we do.”

“I am immensely proud of all of our employees, their dedication to the work we do and the way they live our company’s motto – it’s more than just work.”

A number of initiatives that contribute to WGE’s workplace culture include:

The Aon Hewitt Best Employer survey was completed by 403 employees at WGE. In the study for 2015-16, 140 organisations and over 92,500 employees participated.
