The new walkway link at Melbourne Airport is complete, which passengers will walk along between the Virgin & Tiger/Rex Terminals, for the next two years until the new T4 is built.
WGE are proud to have designed the structural elements of this walkway. The link is about 150m long, with 11 modules, all raised 5m in the air to suit existing airport terminal levels. It was designed with the steel on the outside so that all the passengers see is clean bondor panel lining as they walk along . The structural exoskeleton also made it easier transport & erect the modules (without damaging waterproofing) and attach services to the outside.
