WGE: proud to sponsor Save Our Sons Sportsman’s Lunch

Wood & Grieve Engineers (WGE) were delighted to be invited to attend a charity lunch hosted by not-for-profit, Save our Sons.

Save Our Sons is an Australian Charity committed to raising desperately needed funding and awareness for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).

DMD is a devastating muscle-wasting condition that affects 1 in 3500 children, where 99% of those affected are young boys. Post-diagnosis, children are confined to a wheelchair between the ages of 7 and 12, and most do not live past their early twenties.

The charity was founded in 2008 by Elie and Nancy Eid, following the diagnosis of their son, Emilio. In the space of the seven years since its inception, Save Our Sons has grown exponentially and is proud to have one of the greatest support bases in the country.

WGE was thrilled to be invited to this lunch, by Save our Sons member Michael Malak. Michael Malak was recently involved in a fundraiser walk from Sydney to Canberra- no mean feat, especially considering Michael, along with other participants, walked amid one of the wettest Mays in years!

WGE was proud to participate and sponsor in this event, and is excited at opportunities to contribute and attend future charitable events.
